It was fun hearing the hall attendees saying "This is such a younger crowd than we're used to" and the amazing lady who sat next to me wanted to understand all about Civ and play it immediately since she had never heard it before and said "That could be in a movie, all his pieces could, doesn't matter that it's a video game or Pokemon (bless) it was wonderful.Buy Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI Anthology So yes, I've rabbled on a bit too much, I loved it and the whole evening. I hope this helped a little bit, I can't wait to play the game. The whole concert was utterly utterly wonderful and I feel very spoiled on the music, it was filmed as well so hopefully soon the piece will be shown. There were no soloist for this piece either but you didn't miss it, everyone was joined together and it was really fun. The pace was different from Baba Yetu as well (obviously), it felt more energetic and bouncy (maybe I'm thinking that because the choir were bobbing along). The orchestra were not the focus, the choir was and their sound which again was overwhelming and stunning. The orchestra was smaller than I anticipated, I've been used to larger ones for Distant Worlds and Final Symphony but it felt actually much better that way. There was this joy and happiness to the music, I'm trying to think of pieces it reminded me of, I could be wrong but when trying to recall how it sounded it makes me think of Skyrims dragonsong theme except not so harsh/blunt in the delivery of the lyrics, much softer and fluid (I'm really wary of writing that since I'll likely be wrong once you hear it) I felt there was this great sense of momentum to the piece, keeping in mind the lyrics are based on flight, I felt it was about that run up, going fast as you can and then leaping forward into the air and flying, kind of like in a dream. I am not a pro at music, my partner and I have been listening to Video Game Classical music for only 4/5 years and Classical for about 2. Sogno di Volare was the second piece to play that evening, apologies that I can't be more specific overall, we did hear it once and I'll try and give you my best impressions. It was such a full and complete choir and Baba Yetu made me cry (but then again I cry at a lot of music) We went and saw it last night, first off if you ever get a chance to see Angel City Chorale I cannot get over how stunning their sound was.
